Head of MSL Capabilities - Novartis
Arthur is the Head of MSL Capabilities at Novartis. Born in Calgary, Canada, Arthur holds a degree in mechanical engineering, a PhD in biomedical engineering, and an executive MBA specializing in healthcare marketing. He developed and patented an image-guided treatment for uterine fibroids using focused ultrasound waves and was a Bill and Melinda Gates foundation fellow involved in starting three biotech companies. Arthur has had various leadership roles in clinical applications, professional education and medical affairs for both pharmaceutical and medical device companies. He has spent time in radiology, gynecology, urology, oncology and endocrinology but his passion is in ophthalmology. Arthur has extensive experience building teams and fostering compliant relationships with cross-functional colleagues. His career highlight was representing Alcon in Cambodia on a SEE international medical mission trip last year. Arthur resides in Plano, Texas with his family, and enjoys running, biking, skiing, piano, coaching soccer and volunteering as a board member with three non-profits. He is an editor with the Medical Science Liaison Society, an adjunct faculty at St Joseph’s University and an invited speaker to various medical affairs leadership conferences.
